Kealia

After the capture of Qilya Turks built a quadrangular castle with four bastions and five stone towers. The fortress was surrounded by a moat filled with water from the Danube. In the Russian-Turkish war in the late XVIII century. Kealia was besieged and captured by Russian troops. City Kealia located on both banks of the Danube. New Kealia is part of the USSR, and old (Kealia-century) is located in the RPR. Earlier in Qilya had a gymnasium, which studied children of merchants, officials, and cams, and three elementary schools. But was seventeen chapels and churches, twenty-four tavern.
